I would like to create a system where people get their video uploaded quickly but it must be approved in order to be available on the search engine. I also want to cut down the upload and file conversion time. Testing how fast an average upload and conversion will be important. I think that people will not mind the upload time but the server's conversion time may be annoying if I have the client side wait. The Share Shows video upload process will probably require that I have the user upload a video that is in a certain format, say WMV, and that video can be shared with friends or family until it is converted and approved for the search engine. |
Again, I want to note that one of ShareShows' main aims is to have clean video sharing. Each video will be approved by eye before they can be found with the search engine.
I think that people demand that their video be approved soon so I will try to get to it in a 12 hour revisiting cycle. The time will be a bit of a burden for people but they can easily give friends and family the direct link to the video as well as a page of all the videos regardless if they are converted or not. However people who visit the site cannot find that page unless they are given the link from the person who has uploaded the video.
