As many people have noticed, social networking and video websites have been on the rise lately. Share shows is an attempt to have a go at my skills in making websites. I want to make Share Shows a website where people can easily find videos that they are looking for. The videos will be categorized neatly and in a new exciting look.

Video Categories

One of the reasons for this website is to make a division where kids can watch videos. There are very few video websites out there for kids. At least, compared to the popular video websites. I will be working on www.shareshows.com for the next few months. I want to make it simple yet dynamic. I want to make it so people feel as if they have control over what they are viewing and seeing.

Defined Search Results

Results will be amazing. I plan on creating a great search engine that will find videos that are very relevant to what people search for. I plan on creating a separate database for professional videos, home made videos, and videos for kids. That way you get very defined results.

I know that most videos that are viewed on the Internet are not clean. At the same time, I know that there are very few video websites out there that have strictly clean videos. In response to my previous post I think that I will make Share Shows strictly clean videos or else it will easily be considered a Youtube clone. Share Shows will also be made dead simple for people that are not so familiar with the computer. I want to make a video website that everyone can use with emphasis on sharing videos with friends and family.

The website will be question-less. Meaning, there will be no questions that a user will need to ask. The design and function of the website will be clean and easy to use. I plan on targeting an audience that has not be targeted. If any of my faithful visitors of this blog are wondering what types of video will be featured on it. Know that they will all be clean and family friendly videos. Youtube is obviously not a good place for kids.

I need some feedback on what you as a reader would like to see accomplished with www.shareshows.com because I would like to make it clean and simple for everyone. I would like to setup video albums and have a search engine to search for public videos. Basically I will have strictly clean videos for kids and family. Also, Share Shows will be easy to use.

One of shareshows.com's aims is to have clean videos. There are very few websites out there that are willing to do this because of the lack of visitors and people that will actually come to your website. So I am trying to problematize and explore what people consider clean videos. Obviously I will not have any "confirm your birthday" videos like on Youtube or GameTrailers. But there will be an occasional video with mild violence. Movie trailers feature some violence. As for language use, I will keep that at a minimum also. And anything that is obscene or sexual in nature will not be featured have at all.

I am thinking about using a video labeling system that will identify weather a video contains violence and language or not. For example, when someone searches for a video they will get results that label videos of having violence and language or not with an intuitive icon.

I will also consider having a report video label so if someone finds a video that is offensive I will consider removing it from the search engine and category results. Share shows is still getting closer to its full release and I hope you comment on your thoughts about it. I am just working out a little code and security for the website. I would ask that once it is up, tell your family and friends about it. Remember the website isn't just about viewing videos but sharing them on a family friendly video sharing website.

The website itself is aimed at being simple and userfriendly. Share Shows is not just about sharing videos but viewing them in high quality. If the videos are too clean then not many potential users will not like the website as many people are seeking some violence. The website will be meant to be a PG video website. Anything that is approved will be show up in our search engine.

However the videos that are strictly for kids will be obviously clean. Also, I like the idea of splitting up home videos that people make and video that are made in some video studio or company such as a video review from CNET. I think people want a little violence. Therefore the website will contain some mild violence but will not be as 'unclean' as youtube.

Yes, there are many websites out there that are video based but my aim is better categorization of videos. Also I would like to develop a better search engine. A search engine that returns good results not just relevant results. I think this will be an important factor for Share Show's success. People want good results. People want to find things quickly. People want to ask the least ammount of questions as possible to get an answer.

At the bottom of ShareShows.com you will see flags. These will translate the website from English to the most common language associated with the flag.

This feature may be improved in the future where I will get real people to translate the text but as for now, this will do.
